Join Dr. Julie Mattison for a hands-on workshop on medieval bindings on Monday, 7 November, 3-4:30 pm in Special Collections 277. Dr. Mattison is Assistant Professor of Medieval and Tudor Literature at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands, where she teaches literature and book history in England and France from the Middle Ages into the early modern period She received her PhD in English literature from the University of Toronto in 2021, and she will be joining the English faculty here at UGA in August 2023. Many of the manuscripts in this workshop are borrowed from the manuscript dealer Les Enluminures through their Manuscripts in the Curriculum program. UGA's participation in that program has been funded by the Special Collections Library, the Willson Center for Humanities and Art, and the Department of English. This workshop is funded by the Ballew Lecture Fund and is free and open to the public.
