Dr. Barbara McCaskill receives the 2019 Lorraine A. Williams Leadership Award

Dr. Barbara McCaskill received the 2019 Lorraine A. Williams Leadership Award from the Association of Black Women Historians (ABWH). This national distinction recognizes a scholar, educator, or administrator who has "demonstrated mentoring skills, not only in teaching or related work but in providing networks that enhance the professional growth of other black women scholars and students." Recipients, who are nominated by other scholars, also "must have demonstrated organizational leadership in groups, organizations, or institutions that impact black women." Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the ABWH fosters networks and promotes and disseminates research among black women scholars in the field. Congratulations Dr. McCaskill!
