Shakespeare's Birthday: Visit from Professor Marion Wynne-Davies

Marion Wynne-Davies
TBA

In 2021 Professor Marion Wynne-Davies -- expert on early modern women's writing, Renaissance literature, and a professional screenwriter and television adaptor -- offered us two public presentations on Zoom because the pandemic prevented us from hosting her in person. Two years later, we are able to bring her to campus in the flesh to run a screenplay workshop on Baz Luhrman's 1999 film _William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet" for Dr. Iyengar's ENGL 4434 class and to talk to students in Dr. Iyengar's ENGL 2310 class about Margaret Cavendish's 1666 science-fiction novella _Blazing World_ . These events will take place on Tuesday, 18th April at 12.45-2pm and on Thursday, 20th April at 9.35-10.50am Although the presentation and workshop are open to the public, seating is limited, so auditors should contact Dr. Iyengar (iyengar@uga.edu) for more information about availability and location.

These events are sponsored by The Willson Center for Humanities and Arts and the UGA English Department.
