UGA Main Library in fall

The Department of English at the University of Georgia offers two graduate-level degrees:  A Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D. with a critical or a creative dissertation) and a Master of Arts (M.A.).  Our faculty and course offerings represent a wide range of critical and creative expertise, including studies in literary, language, genre, and craft studies.  Our various departmental strengths feature in particular: Literatures of the Americas, British and Irish Studies, Transatlantic Currents, Material Textualities, Forms and Genres, and Theories of Cultural Representation.  Descriptions of each area can be found on our website.
