Christian Gallichio is a PhD Student focusing on popular Victorian fiction and the long nineteenth century. He completed his MA at the University of Massachusetts - Boston where his thesis focused on nineteenth century Christmas fiction, specifically looking into Mary Anne Barker, William Makepeace Thackeray, and William Gilmore Simms’s holiday writing as reworking Puritan Conversion narratives for secular readership. Christian’s current research interests include the role of gift theory and social exchange theory within holiday fiction. He, additionally, has presented papers on the non-canonical works of Thomas Hardy and Bram Stoker.
