Shamala Gallagher is an Indian/Irish American poet and essayist whose recent work has appeared in Poetry, Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, Poetry Northwest, Black Warrior Review, The Missouri Review, The Offing, West Branch, Copper Nickel, The Rumpus, and the anthology Bettering American Poetry Vol. 2.
She is working on two book-length projects:
- A memoir/essay collection, Mooncalf, an exploration of inequality, privilege, and mixed-race identity.
- A book-length poem, Late Morning, set in the gentrifying neighborhood of Chicopee-Dudley in Athens, GA during the end times.
