Gabrielle Stecher is a PhD student in the English Department at the University of Georgia. Her major areas of focus are Victorian literature, visual culture, and feminist criticism. She is primarily interested in the women of Victorian novels and their relationships with the art world. She is currently researching early film adaptations of Thackeray's Vanity Fair, specifically the ways in which the role of Becky Sharp influenced the careers of various female film stars.
